About the Site
FTR was first constructed early in year 2004 by Artex (me) to be a centralized source of technical
information about Furcadia - something the web seemed to lack for some reason - both, officially
and unofficially. The website was assembled from various documentations written by other people -
docs that were publicly available (although somewhat hidden) to me as a user. Those docs were
studied, rewritten and updated, new ones were added and so the site became more-less usable by
the public.
Ever since, FTR is providing information such as the protocol specifications for Furcadia servers,
file formats used by the system, commands, server instructions and basic information such as the
way base95 numbers work and how to understand the isometric field used in Furcadia. The site also
grows and gains new sections with time, expands the existing ones and stays up-to-date as much as
possible.
Unfortunately, due to the fact that DEP is threatening me to restrict some of the information I
have on FTR (which you can gain publicly without too much effort, mind you!), the site does have
shadowed spots and there is some information a normal user won't have access to, but with all
this, I have to say that the information normally found here is plain not available anywhere else
on the web!
To summarize the introduction, I would like to note that all this information was gathered from
3rd party sources - people like yourself, be it a passive contribution or an active one, brought
to my attention directly. If you feel that you've got some information I might not have (or didn't
place on the site), you are welcome to come in contact with me and discuss it. Likewise, if you
have a special request for a resource page you might find useful, you can ask me about it and I
will look into it. The contact information can be obtained by either clicking the
Contacts link or clicking my nickname in the copyright string.
